This name indicates a ceramic jar that contained a semi-dense pharmaceutical preparation made up of mixtures of medicinal herbs mixed with honey or syrups, with which many diseases were treated in ancient times. In Liguria the vase also became a work of art made in the Genoese and Savona furnaces, but especially in Albisola where this art began in the fifteenth century thanks to important manufactures that still perpetuate this tradition today. The different types of pots had different shapes and carried a Latin inscription with the name of the ointments contained. The two majolica vases feature blue monochromatic decorations and pharmaceutical writings within scrolls surmounted by floral decorations and cherubs within a landscape; they can be dated to the 17th century (left electuary) and to the 18th century (right electuary).
